National Service Scheme

With the Objective of giving a shape to the mission and vision of NSS, the first unit of NSS was established in D.S. College, Aligarh in the session 1969-70 under able guidance of the NSS programme officer Prof. R.N. Banaerjee. His perservance dedication, dedication and creative abilities played an important role in shaping and paving the way towards the realization of the aims and objectives of NSS. Thereafter eminent personalities, visionaries of social causes took up the responsibility of carrying forward the mission of NSS and realising its objectives. Dr. R.C. Tiwari and Dr. H.N. Singh were the pioneers who initiate the establishment of second unit of NSS in 1993 affiliated to Agra University, Agra. Dr. G.P. Sharma and Dr. A.P. Paliwal, Dr. R.S. Pundhir, Dr. Omvir Singh Shikharwa, Dr. Prabhakar Sharma, Dr. A.K. Shrivastav, Dr. N.S. Dhingar, Dr. A.K. Tomar, Dr. J.P. Singh, Dr. Sweta, Dr. Manju Giri, Dr. Harendra Singh, Dr. Sunita Gupta, Dr. Subhash, Dr. Jyotsna Chandel we other torch bearers of the NSS units in the subsequent years/ session in D.S. College, whose devotion led to invaluable achievements of the NSS.

The third unit of NSS was initiated by Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma programme Officer in 2021- Presently the unit programme officer are Dr. Rajeev Kumar, Dr. Rekha Tomar and Dr. Krishna Kumar. Now the NSS units are running under the aegis of RMPU, Aligarh. The untiring efforts and pains taken by the officers and student of NSS is taking the NSS to a new height and D.S. College basking in the glory of the several social services activities undertaken by them. It is excellent platform for the social participation loading in the development personality and enhancing several skills.
